What a fascinating and beautiful book this is, thank you so much for sharing it! I find myself delving into the illustrations just as much as into the historical context: this was the area where women could proof themselves, must have been a nightmare for those without the interest or patience. (Btw, check the link, seems a few extra characters sneaked in after the “h.htm” at the end)
